Use this downward momentum to your advantage by creating a new portal on the opposite side of the player’s room so that the future cube can drop through the portal below it and then launch itself to the other side. Use this to go to the future, where the future cube will fall from the ceiling because there is no longer an excursion funnel to suspend it in midair. To open it, players must have a cube on the previous roof button, as well as another next to the surface of the portal of the new time.

After going through the third door, remove the time portal to keep the cube floating and press the big button on the ceiling. It is done in this order because changing the portals in the past will change where they are in the future, but not the other way around. Finish by creating a new time portal in the upper right of the room, so that the light bridge of the future enters the present and prevents the cube from rising higher. Shoot the ‘receiving end’ portal on the surface in the upper left corner of the wall, then return to the present. The player needs to stop the cube from rising so that it stays in place and redirects the laser to a reticle, so go to the future and shoot a new portal on the light bridge there. This will gradually float towards the ceiling where the laser is.

This section can be difficult, so feel free to create a save file before attempting this part of the puzzle. Believe it, then prepare to put up a fast-paced portal. To get started, press the button on the left side of the room to drop a cube into the excursion funnel and then shoot a portal where the funnel ends and another on the ground for the player to grab the cube.
